I am finally running Einstein@Home, and taking great nerdy pride in the fact that actual data from LIGO, GEO and Arecibo is being crunched by my computer.
For those not in the know: Einstein@Home allows ordinary people from all over the world to donate some of their computing power to aid in the search for signals from pulsars, which are important for the search for gravitational waves.
I’m sure that if I could have a little bar that shows the percentage of work I have done to reach a deadline, like my computer does, I’d be much more productive.
